Mold maintenance: A "compulsory course” to extend life

Jan 28,2024

The life of a set of molds depends not only on the material, but also on daily maintenance.

Regular cleaning: Clean up the remaining plastic and oil stains in the cavity after each production, and pay special attention to the dredging of the exhaust tank to avoid air bubbles caused by clogging.

Lubrication and maintenance: Moving parts such as thimbles and guide posts are filled with high-temperature grease every week to prevent wear and stagnation.

Condition monitoring: real-time monitoring of temperature, pressure and wear through mold sensors, and timely repair when scratches above 0.1mm appear on the surface of the cavity to avoid the expansion of defects.

Reasonable storage: Molds that have been discontinued for a long time need to be sprayed with anti-rust oil and installed in a dry and ventilated place to avoid cavity rust or guide column rust.
